The film revolves around two opposite characters Abby and Mike. A successful producer of the morning show on relationships and other news, Abby Richter (Katherine Heigl) meets a man Mike (Butler), who is poles apart and believes men only want and care about one thing. The story has many comic elements and the eventual romantic turn that build up between the two.

Katherine Heigl
as Abigail Richter or “Abby” is a morning show producer who is control freak and romantically challenged. She is amazing at handling every workplace issue, except that in spite of all her hard work she is unable to lift up the ratings of her show. Her dates go badly because she tends to keep a printed copy of background checks and profiles and prefers to point out fault in others which are not exactly the most desirable attributes in a date.
